Ordering, Delivery & Medical Restrictions Information

Children’s Hospital Gift Shop is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers and employees. The net proceeds from all sales go to the Hospital’s Uncompensated Care fund that ensures that no child is denied the care she or he needs because of financial concerns. When you shop either on-line, by phone or in our Gift Shop, you are helping children in several ways. Checkout

Ordering Information:

  • We accept American Express, MasterCard and VISA only.
  • All online and phone sales are final. No returns, refunds or exchanges.
  • Each package as shown is not the exact item(s) that will be delivered to the patient. The pictures represent generally what will be in each package. For example, a stuffed dog might be substituted for a stuffed bear at the same price.
  • The floral arrangements shown are a general idea for each package and will differ also due to seasonal changes.
  • A specific balloon design may not be available but we will substitute in the same theme area, i.e. Get Well.

Processing of Orders:

  • If a patient is in surgery and has not been assigned a room, we will deliver the gift at the earliest opportunity after a room assignment has been made.
  • If a patient has been discharged before we processed the order, you will be notified either by email or phone.
  • If we are unable to locate the patient you will be notified either by phone or email.

Delivery Information:

  • Deliveries are made within the Hospital only.
  • There is no service charge for deliveries.
  • Our delivery hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for online orders.
  • Orders received after 3:00 p.m. will be delivered the next business weekday.
  • Gifts ordered online on Saturday, Sunday or holidays will be delivered the next business weekday.
  • We are closed all major holidays.
  • Gifts ordered by telephone are delivered Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Medical Restrictions:

  • Due to certain health-related restrictions, flowers and/or balloons cannot be sent to the Intensive Care Units and the Hematology/Oncology Units. If we receive an order that includes a restricted product, we will contact you either by phone or email to ask for an alternative choice.

Restrictions:

  • Due to Hospital policy, latex balloons are not allowed in the Hospital.
  • No balloons or fresh flowers are allowed in ICU.
  • No fresh flowers are allowed in Hem/Onc area and rooms.
  • Plush toys -- most are clearly marked by the manufacturer as to age appropriateness. Please mention the child’s age so we can help with the selection.
  • Certain toys -- small cars and planes, mini-animals, wind-up toys, bubbles and games with small pieces -- are not for children under the age of 3. We will help with the appropriate selection.
  • Candy is not included in any of our packages because of potential diet restrictions.
